20 Liter Jerry Can system includes spout and spout adapter. All of our Wavian Jerry Can systems come with an EPA, DOT, C. A. R. B. approved spout. We have also added an adapter since some gasoline powered vehicles need a smaller spout to fit in the filler. The adapter sits on the spout and needs to be turned clockwise until it snaps into place. The spout needs to be pushed to start the flow. The weight of the gasoline helps to open the spout to facilitate an easy quick pour. All Wavian products have a 2 year warranty against manufacturers defects. Fully paint-coated inside and outside. Have a full, internal breather pipe for splash-proof pouring. Love the can, hate the spout. It leaks where the black spout screws into the metal part. Spilled more gas in three uses with the stupid California compliant spout than 30 years of using older cans. Totally worthless spout for filling a vehicle with as it doesn’t work with the newer vehicles requiring an adaptor and you can’t lift it very far because it has no flexibility. Tried turning upside down as one person noted but the angle doesn’t work with my vehicle. Spout leaks as soon as the can is tipped enough to get fuel in the spout so I have an expensive can I can’t use. Will be buying a real spout to replace it but now wish I had gone with Rotopax. Too expensive to change now as already bought Jerry can mount for vehicle.

Had the basic plastic cans but they started to off-gas after a year. These are expensive but work great!

These gas cans appear to be great quality. The fact that they can sometimes survive shipping with no packing materials is testament enough.
I ordered two of these cans and they came thrown loosely in a too-big cardboard box. No foam, bubble wrap, air bags, or additional cardboard to keep them in place.
The first order I received had one spout broken in half (one half completely missing) and multiple small dents and scratches on the cans. The inside of the box had red paint on it from the cans tumbling about in there. I returned that order and the replacement came with the same ridiculously poor packaging. However, amazingly, these cans were intact with only minor scuffs!

This works great for today’s cars, however for lawnmowers and other small gas powered engines, it is hard to pour w/o spilling. With that said it is 1000x better than the big box plastic gas cans.

It does the job I just really don’t believe the price should be as high as it is. I would expect to pay around $40 for something like this

I struggled for some time with a plastic gas can with a newfangled plastic environmental cap that made pouring impossible unless I was willing to be showered in gas. Although this can has the same fancy lock top that is supposed to be more eco-friendly, its made of metal and works well. The can is solid, stays upright when riding full in my trunk (careful around turns), and pours as promised. Also leaves the option of pouring through a funnel, since the spout is removable. A gas can shouldn’t be a difficult item, but other models have been disappointing and subject to breakage and dysfunction. This can works great.

The first can I got had a dent on the side so I sent it back. The second can had a ding on the bottom I let it slide but for the money seems like it should be in new condition

I have several of these and will never go back to plastic containers, which often fail after a fairly short amount of time. It holds pressure even when the can is exposed to the heat of summer. I found only one issue. Upon inspection I found the air breather tube, the end closest to the can connection point, was plugged up with paint. Easy enough to fix by scraping the paint out with a knife. I highly recommend these fuel cans.

This can seems nice and if I need another I’ll strongly consider this one again.
One issue is that the included spout does not fit in my car’s full port and it is hard to use with a funnel. Being able to not use the spout and just pour into a funnel fixes that though so I’m not complaining too much.
It also seems to hold pressure quite well when the temperature is changing so I have confidence it is not leaking.

The quality of this can is fantastic! The locking hinges are tight but loosen after a few times. My single-can order did arrive loose in a cardboard box but was clean with no damage. I’d be concerned that multiple-can orders may come loose like the other reviews.
FYI, do a search about storing gasoline and octane rating – higher may last longer.
