Tip – Proper Clamping to Prevent Leaks:To prevent leakage, ensure you carefully seat and forcefully clamp down the spout on the can during the first few times of use.We’vehad reports of leaks that typically are the result of the spout not being fully clamped down or not seated properly on the can lip when clamped. The spout clamp pin can be a bit sticky when used the first few times (due to the paint clear coat on the edges.) Carefully seating the seal and forcefully clamping spout during the first few times of use will ensure the rubber seal on the spout gets the proper lip impressionfootprint. Also, the clamp pin will be easier to clamp down after first few times of use and with proper seal lip impression footprint.

This product did not fit an Authentic NATO Wavian can without some modification. CampingMaxx offered a refund but at my expense for the return shipping. CampingMaxx also frequently insinuated that I did not have an Authentic NATO can because I purchased it from a different Amazon dealer. The jerry can is labeled Authentic NATO Jerry Can by Wavian and does weigh slightly over 10 lbs (empty) which was one of the sellers insinuations that my can was not “Authentic.” My advice, do not purchase from CampingMaxx who will not take responsibility for their product but instead will blame the can or the customer. Buyer beware!

You can find a cheap chinese version of this out there but it doesn’t flow as freely (you get the air gulp). Definitely go with the Wavian brand its the best. I have multiple Wavian cans and I put this one of them and it leaked so I’m not sure if its the gasket or maybe the can. I gave it four stars for the gasket and its a little pricey, but it is the best one on the market.

These 20 l jerry cans are getting harder to find and have gotten crazy expensive from just a few yers ago. Forget about finding the true surplus cans, the Wavian cans are almost as good. BUT, they come with those stupid CALI complaint nozzles. You can mess around and fix most of the problems with those, drilling out the vent hole, removing the push to pour feature, etc. But this nozzle does work perfectly right away. I bought one to test, since I have tried other nozzles with poor results. Good to go. Gonna order a few more while I can before they go away like so much of the other stuff because of CARB..

SECOND UPDATE
After using it for over a year it has performed better than I thought it would.
Plastic extension is still in great shape. No leaks anywhere.

*UPDATE*
I have been using this for a couple of weeks on my surplus Jerry can. I had to file down the vent tube on this slightly to fit the vent tube in the can and the latching “hooks” so it would latch all of the way.
For those uninitiated in the use of these cans and funnels, when you first start pouring you need to give it a couple of seconds for the vaccum to start and then it will start flowing very quickly. I can empty the can from full into my Jeep in just over 2 minutes. It flows FAST and does not leak.
Will update on the plastic nozzle tip on this at a later date.
Will buy another for my next Jerry can.
Giving this 5 stars initially. Just received it today and tried it on a Jerry can I have in my shed. It fit perfectly and seemed to work as it should but my Jerry can I have now does not have the vent tube in it as it broke off a few years ago.
The nozzle isn’t very long but should work okay for what I will need it for. I read elsewhere where people said that their nozzles cracked/broke after about a year of use. I’ll post how the nozzle holds up at a later date.
The overall build of mine seems like they did it right. Read a couple of reviews where there were some major QC issues, but mine seems just fine. No issues anywhere and the latch functions very easily.
Not sure what the purpose of the smaller nozzle insert is for but guess I will figure it out later.
The mounting bracket and hardware are all there and seems like it will mount just fine.
I purchased an older can that will be here tomorrow. It will be a few days before I can give an actual working review as I need to clean, strip and paint the can first.
I have another nozzle somewhat similar to this one and would recommend purchasing a pack of the small mouth Jerry can gaskets sold here on Amazon as well. Cheap insurance against a lost or bad gasket. They will fit both the nozzles and the caps on the cans themselves.

The air vent nozzle that interfaces with the can was far too long and would not allow a good seal. Had to file off half an inch before it would fit. It works great now and with no leaks.

I have a feeling someone just cut all the plastic bits on a stock spout and heated a flexible hose to it. And whoever you are, thank you for solving one of life’s annoyances.

Still wish that my jerrycan would’ve come with the spout and I wouldn’t needed it, but that’s life. Just to be clear that’s not a knock on this product. It seems to be made well enough.

This nozzle fills up really fast compared to the junk that came with the wavian can. Its huge but i am not leaking gas at all and it flows gas like pump at the station. Wavian take some notes

Nozzle works. No leaks, flexible, sturdy. Clip is poorly designed. Contrary to responses to my question, you have to drill two holes in the handle of the can to mount the plastic clip. The clip is 3/4” too short to capture the nozzle. It appears they copied the standard clip ( in photos with standard green nozzle) but has to widen the clip because their nozzle diameter is larger. However they shortened the body of the clip so it’s too short to capture the nozzle.
